An examination of Marx's writings on ecology, especially agriculture, shows that he was not the industrialize-at-all-costs sort of guy he's sometimes made out to be. His critique of capitalism offers a vision of a sustainable future based in a materialist vision, offering an alternative to some of the more spiritual of the Greens.
