Details
A lavishly illustrated romp through ye olde punk rock in England in 1977. Mark P. founded the first ever punk fanzine in 1976, called Sniffin Glue, worked for Step Forward (who released records by the likes of Sham 69, Cortinas, et al.), and founded the band Alternative TV. He provides the words, history, and anecdote. Erica Echenberg was there in 1976, snapping away, and she provides the 100s of pictures of the bands, and personalities—Sex Pistols, Damned, Clash, Adverts, Jam, Buzzcocks, Subway Sect, Chelsea, Generation X, Eddie & The Hot Rods, Slits, Eater, Sham 69, X-Ray Spex, ATV, Vibrators, 999, Cortinas, Gorillas, and the Heartbreakers... A surprisingly good read, with lots and lots of look at, with nearly 150 oversize pages.
