ITEM OVERVIEW
A wonderful new journal, weaving together a narrative of sorts, of that most famous, and radical, of America's cities. The first issue is graced with a bunch of the city's heavy-hitters, drifting in both prose and fiction, towards a map, of sorts. Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Sara Jaffe, Kevin Keating, James Tracy, Charles Gatewood, Lynn Rapoport, Jo Ellen Green Kaiser, and many more, tell it like it is, or ought to be, or might be if you consider it that way. If anything, Issue Two goes one better, and includes fiction by: Charlie Anders, Jessica Arndt, Dodie Bellamy, Eric Delehoy, Tim Denevi, Leigh Gallagher, Daphne Gottlieb, MC Mars, Sloane Martin, Donal Mosher, Aaron Neilsen, Matthue Roth, Lisa Ryers and Michele Tea; and artwork by: Marit Brook-Kothlow, Chris Cobb, Steve Dell, Robert Gutierrez, Colter Jacobson, Mitche Manitou, Sean McFarland, Rebecca Miller, Dave Schubert, Marina Shterenberg and Liz Walsh. Not to be outdone, issue Three weighs in with fiction, non-fiction, art and essays by the likes of Ana Maria Ventura, Bucky Sinister, Charles Gatewood, Jim Nawrocki, Julie Lindow, Kirk Read, Jack Hirschman, Kevin Davis, and a whole host more. Issue Four may be the best yet. It's certainly the fattest, clocking in at over 120 pages. And with work from dozens of folks, including Jennifer Blowdryer, Joe Donohoe, Manuel Jimenez, Loren Rhoads, Broke-Ass Stuart, Liz Walks, and Ruby Wexler, you know you're in for a quality treat.
